A Solid History of Building Since 1960

Oakview's Milestones

1960 - Charles Wilson founded Oakview Construction in Red Oak, Iowa, as a housing contractor. Wilson’s background as a manufacturer of precast concrete and developer of Red Oak industry and housing helped ensure that the new company was established on a solid foundation.

1969 - Wilson hired Dick Bulkeley as General Manager based on his in-depth knowledge of the construction industry in the United States and beyond. Bulkeley broadened the company’s scope to include commercial construction, particularly manufacturing facilities and treatment plants.

1986 - Dick Bulkeley purchased Oakview and led the company into restaurant and retail construction. That same year, Oakview was named Contractor for Southwest Iowa.

1992 - Ten key employees were challenged to double Oakview’s equity within five years. They met and surpassed that goal in only three years, with the encouragement and support of Bulkeley’s visionary leadership.

Today - Oakview has become one of the top-ranked general contractors in the United States, thanks to its nationwide network of carefully chosen subcontractors and suppliers who share the company’s commitment to quality, cost competitiveness, and timely completion.
