Robert Leidig began working in the construction industry in 1975. “My father was a contractor, so I just grew up in it,” he said. Born and raised in the scenic San Juan Islands of Washington State, Leidig worked in that area for 10 years before moving to Nevada.
“There’s been a lot of growth in Las Vegas,” Leidig remarked. “Over the last 20 years it hasn’t slowed down much. When one segment of the construction industry slows down, another area starts to peak, which has given us a pretty good balance of steady growth.”
Over the years Leidig has served as estimator, superintendent, project manager and director of operations. He has handled projects in excess of $400 million, many of which were construction under fast-track delivery systems. Leidig has been involved with many retail and distribution facilities and has worked with corporate giants such as Coca Cola, Lechters, and Home Depot. Recent projects have included condominiums, retail establishments, and medical office buildings.
In his spare time, Leidig enjoys doing home improvement projects and cooking. Having grown up near the ocean, he heads out to the seaside every now and then. “Once in a while I’ll go to the beach in California,” he said. “It’s about a four-hour drive.”
