Building With Solid Services Since 1960

Services Offered By Oakview Construction

From preconstruction to move-in, Oakview Construction can assist you every step of the way. As you’ll see in our “Projects” portfolio, Oakview’s experience covers a broad scope of retail, commercial, industrial and municipal construction projects throughout the 48 contiguous states.

Preconstruction Services
Oakview’s construction scheduling process incorporates reviews for “construct-ability” to identify and correct potential problems before  construction begins. Other preconstruction services include the following:

• Coordination between design disciplines

• Project sequencing

• Analysis of materials selected

• Attention to phasing, site staging, and availability
  of manpower

• Budget development and maintenance

• Administration of the bidding process

Planning and Design
At the inception of each project, Oakview organizes a construction team consisting of the client’s representative, a construction manager, and an architect-engineer. The team meets to outline the objectives and priorities of the project, and the construction manager provides leadership on all matters related to construction.

During the planning and design phase, the construction manager offers recommendations on feasibility of construction, outlines anticipated costs for labor and materials, reviews the design, and provides advice regarding site usage or improvement. The construction manager also prepares a preliminary budget and schedule allocating resources and time for labor, materials, shop drawing, sample reviews and delivery of products.

Construction Management
Oakview offers three sequencing methods for design and construction:

• Linear: completion of most design activity prior
  to construction.

• Parallel: provision of some preconstruction services by a   contracting entity during the design phase.

• Fast track: implementation of some stages of
construction prior to completion of design work.

Oakview will recommend a sequencing method for each project based on predictability of budget, desired timetable, and need to accommodate changes. Regardless of the client’s choice, each method allows for seamless progression from design to bid to build.

Interior Design and Furnishings
Our Surroundings division can become involved at an early stage to assist in space planning, selection of furniture and modular wall structures, and installation of interior structures. Surroundings can also provide advice on lighting, sound masking systems, and other environmental factors contributing to employee productivity.
