Building With Solid Leaders Since 1960

Rick Watts
Resident, Commercial Division

Rick Watts began his construction career in 1979 and joined Oakview five years later. Positions held include draftsman, estimator, project coordinator, chief estimator, chief project manager, division manager, vice-president and president.

Many of Oakview’s commercial clients are nationwide restaurant chains, and Watts places top priority on earning their satisfaction.

“Our project manager works with their representative as part of a team effort to bring in a very sound, quality project. We try to have minimal punch list items so they look at us and say, ‘Wow! That’s a very strong project. Let’s go do another one.’ We have a number of chains that we’ve done multiple units for, and we just dig in and do the best possible job on each project. We watch our schedules and get all our equipment in on time so there are no surprises and everybody ends up happy with the finished product.”

Watts added, “The team concept is not something I came up with myself. It’s just part of our culture at Oakview Construction to try to make things run smoothly for continued growth and pleasing our clients. We want to build long-term relationships with people instead of being here today, gone tomorrow.”

When he has some free time, Watts enjoys deer hunting, four-wheeling, and riding his Harley. “I’m really into NASCAR racing. I own a Jeff Gordon No. 24 Monte Carlo as a legal driving car. I enjoy going to races both on the NASCAR level and at local dirt tracks around the area.”
